Investing In A Business Coach

Your coach is not your savior. So please don’t invest in one like it is going to save you.

Many put coaches on pedestals. Now, of course, you probably look up to your coach or future coach, you’re excited and feeling expanded to work with them, for sure! It is such an exciting feeling.

However, they aren’t coming to rescue you.

They shouldn’t be put on a pedestal and they shouldn’t act like they are on one either.

Coaches should 1000% support you & show up.

And also, you gotta take personal responsibility too.

Here are some questions to ask when investing. Keep in mind that some of these might not be relevant to your business:

What are your values? How do these play out in your business?

What does your business model look like? What does your schedule like? Asking this helps you check for alignment. For example, a coach has a lot of launches at one time + can’t hold space for you as someone who doesn’t want to run your business model like that. Even if you don’t run your businesses the same, which isn’t to be expected, you want to know if your coach can support flexibility in your differences and models.

Have you worked with someone who has experienced x and is looking to y?

What do you do in your containers to provide a trauma-informed space + culture of care and safe place for WOC, LGBTQ+, and those with a variety of abilities?

Can you share what your own support look like?

What are the community guidelines (if you’re investing in a program/training)?

How do you provide proper attunement & care for your clients?

What is your mission & vision?

You might be able to sense some of these things when investing in your business. But if not, taking the time to ask questions will help you find an aligned business coach that will serve you. Are you ready to invest in a business coach? come join me in my 1:1 coaching sessions.
