I get that going out to dinner when you are trying to eat healthily, stay dialed in, and not eat all the burgers and fries, pizza, and cake can be TOUGH! So, I wanted to share a few tips for you when headed out on the town!
So, I wanted to share a few tips for you when headed out on the town!
1) Know where you are going and check the menu
2) Don’t choose something because it is good vs. “bad” ask yourself, how are you going to feel after?
3) If you’re worried your meal is going to be a little heavier in carbs, move your carbs around! I will eat more veggies and protein during the day if I know I’m going to go out and have some pizza 🙂
4) Be choosy about your treats & be choosy about your carbs! I don’t really want a store bought a cookie, but I love frozen yogurt! Same thing with bread, not that bread is bad, but I would rather/most likely have a glass of wine than fill up on bread before my meal!
5) If you feel like you want to eat all the things because you are deprived…it is time to take a good hard look at what you are eating during the week. Are you depriving yourself/restricting too many calories?
6) Have a snack before you go! You never know when someone will be running late or if it will be an hour wait! This will stop you from eating all the appetizers and feeling full from heavy fried foods.
7) Lastly, don’t stress! Eating out is meant to be fun and social, enjoy it all in moderation, don’t beat yourself up!
